In 1984, due to some unknown reasons, Jamaat-e-Islami laid-off IJT and continued with its objective of spreading the universal message through its student-wing. Mohammad Yousuf Shah was appointed as the head of this wing. He remained on this position till 1986. In 1985, under his leadership, a huge state level student gathering was organised in which even students and youth from Jammu participated. When this student wing became a little inactive, Jamaat-e-Islami decided to regroup and rename it under ‘Islami Tehreek-i-Talaba’. Replicating the work ethics, objectives and scope of IJT, this new student wing continued spreading eternal Islamic message to youth and students.
